• Kiyoko Morita, the book of incense, 1992. Vintage Collection

It is one of the few books about the ancient Japanese art and tradition of incense, ‘Kodo’, it describes the history and the kodo-cerimony, and offers some example of the “olfactory-games” made during such cerimony.

Un libro che amo molto, ogni racconto è dedicato a uno dei cinque sensi, nel progetto originale, fu pubblicato postumo, purtroppo incompleto. Il naso, però, è il primo racconto del libro.

È oramai difficile da trovare; Luigi tra l’altro è uno dei miei maestri nei rudimenti della profumeria (insomma studio -un poco – ma sono ancora una dilettante eh). È un gran conoscitore di erbe, piante e di come fare preparati cosmetici e aromatici in modo artigianale. Nel libro ci sono ricette e spiegazioni utili su come fare, per esempio, ciprie profumate e aceti aromatici (quelli che un tempo venivano usati come belletti).
